CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
Provides project management, design, and coordination to improve the production process, maintain the manufacturing facilities and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety codes. To accomplish this purpose, the project engineer is responsible for generating feasibility studies, performing engineering calculations, producing project estimates, scope of work, and schedules. The engineer will also provide engineering designs, coordinate construction work, monitor contractor's safety, performance, and progress, to meet the mill's engineering goals in a timely manner
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:
- The senior project engineer manages and completes projects that span multiple engineering disciplines
- Perform capital project development and execution that satisfies the promised scope, budget, and schedule while meeting all safety and environmental expectations.
- Develop capital projects in established phases so that all aspects of the project are thoroughly evaluated, and project risk is identified.
- Lead projects through all phases of the project life cycle including business planning, scope development/technical alternative analysis, project planning, design, and construction.
- Forecast capital spending for each project
- Support document controls including checking drawings in and out of the system and transmitting documents; coordinate development of drawings and specifications.
- Be a team player supporting maintenance and operations by providing technical support and engineered solutions.
- May have additional duties to support Operations and Maintenance personnel and departments in operating areas of the mill on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Support development of a 5yr capital plan that meets the long term needs of the facility
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in the heavy industrial or process industries
- Pulp&Paper experience preferred, but will consider other industries
- Capital Project experience required; minimum 5 years' experience.
