Electrical Designer - CV Engineering : Job Details

CV Engineering is seeking an Electrical Designer with electrical system designexperience on industrial facility, for our Pittsburgh, PA office. Design experience onsteel facilities is considered a significant plus.The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities:• Utilize Revit software to prepare 3D and 2D layout and design drawings which meetcompany and industry standards and codes.• Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes,building materials, and construction techniques.• Prepares CAD electrical design drawings such as: single line diagrams; power,lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area plans; electricalequipment arrangement plans; embedded and expose conduit layouts; cable traylayout plans and sections; conduit, cable and termination schedules.• Applies standard drafting/design principles to complete assignments. Ensurecompliance with company and client policies and applicable standards and codessuch as ANSI, NEMA, NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA etc.• Makes required changes, additions, and/or revisions, as directed by immediatesupervisor.• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.• Prepares typical electrical databases/spreadsheets such as: motor and electricalload lists; panel schedules; bills of materials.• Confers and coordinates with the Electrical Engineers regarding any informationrequired for completion of the design.• Confers and coordinates with other disciplines to assure compliance with designrequirements.REQUIREMENTS:• Minimum 2-year technical degree from an accredited program. Electrical systems /basic electricity coursework included.• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a construction engineering design.• Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products and other computer software used tocomplete design assignments• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit is required
