Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Charlotte Area Manager, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for supporting all projects under contract and seeking maximum safety and profitability for the Charlotte Area. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant PMs, and Superintendents. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for keeping projects safe, on time, and on budget while emphasizing quality by complying with project documents and local, state, and federal standards. Is responsible for managing external relationships with Owners, General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Vendors and coordinating internally in a team environment with other Faulconer Departments and the Operations Team. The Project Manager's responsible for keeping key management personnel aware of a project's status and any requirements necessary to ensure the project's success. Emphasizes Faulconer Core Values at all times.
Essential Functions
Serve as Project Manager on key projects:
* Maximize equipment utilization and efficiency of labor resources, prioritize needs.
* Ensure all Faulconer processes are followed: Handoff, Kickoff, Exit Strategy, Post Project Review, etc.
* Review Two-Week Lookaheads
* Visit Jobsites Regularly: Attend Daily Huddles, Safety Audits, and Project Progress Meetings.
* Participate in hiring, promoting, disciplining, and evaluating staff, including APMs, Superintendents, Foremen, Operators, and Laborers.
* Provide accurate job cost tracking and associated Cost-to-Completes
* Provide management updates and notice on significant project issues or concerns.
Process Management:
* Schedule and run weekly Operations meetings.
* Manage multiple direct reports: PMs and APMs, and provide support for Field Leadership and Construction Manager.
* Ensure Faulconer Processes are followed by Operations team.
* Participate in the assignment of projects to appropriate personnel.
* Review and support PMs and APM and Superintendents with their P6 Schedule development and updating.
* Participate in training and troubleshooting with PMs and APMs on Heavy Job, HCSS Heavy Bid, P6, and View Point.
* Assist and support PM's and APM's and Superintendents with their Contract/Subcontract/Scope development.
* Participate in project meetings: Preconstruction Handoff, Kickoff, Exit Strategy, Post Project Review.
* Provide Operations team with guidance and assistance regarding Customer Relations Triage/Project Problem Solving, Delay Notification, Claim Submission, Large Change Order Negotiations.

Preferred Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree - preferably civil engineering or construction management
* 6+ years working in a construction environment - heavy civil experience required
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
* Familiarity with safety in construction.
* Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, other departments and vendors.
* Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks quickly and accurately.
* Excellent verbal/written interpersonal communication skills and proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite.
* Detail-oriented and organized.
* Prior Management Experience.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance
* Employee must be eligible to work in the United States.
* Drug screen is required after an offer is accepted and continued employment is based on initial drug screen and any future/random drug screens administered.
* A background check and driving record will be required.
* Further clearance may be required by clients (i.e. government or military site access).
