Monitor, maintain and continuously improve system procedures, inspection plans and quality performance trendsAnalyze the effectiveness of the quality system and coordinate quality related issues with other departments, suppliers and customerPerform qualification audits of potential, new suppliersConduct periodic surveillance audits of existing suppliers to address process deficiencies affecting quality performanceTrack Supplier Quality Issues and drive them to closure in a timely mannerIdentify and recommend disqualification of suppliers based on chronically poor performanceDevelop and manage critical suppliers, i.e. Printed Wiring Assembly SubcontractorsInvestigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause, identify and implement corrective actions, drive long term preventative actionsPerform supplier oversight and surveillance to ensure product quality and on-time deliveriesProvide Supplier Source Inspections and data review of subcontractor certs of conformance/data packagesInternally communicate with Engineering, Purchasing, Program Management on opportunities within the supply chain for quality improvementsReview customer contracts and purchase orders for quality requirementsReview purchasing inquiries for quality clauses and assign quality clauses as requiredProvide day-to-day support to the manufacturing/test departmentWhat you Bring:5 - 10 years as an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer, willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, occasionally on short noticeBS Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; or Bachelors; in a technical discipline such as Industrial, Mechanical, or equivalent5+ years of assembly plant experience supporting PWB/PWA in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering role.Experience and demonstrated ability to drive improvement of supplier's quality performance and strong background in quality auditingExperience with electrical, electro-mechanical suppliersStatistical Processes Control (SPC) knowledge and applicationAbility to read and understand, electrical, mechanical drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials, etc.Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a DoD security clearance (condition of employment)Who We Are:Our ValuesEnvironmental, Social and GovernancePeerless Instrument provides state-of-the-art electronic assemblies, systems and software to the US military.
