We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Manager to join our IT Department and lead our quality assurance efforts.

Position Overview: The Senior Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of software quality and reliability. This role involves leading a team of Quality Assurance Engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for the overall QA Strategy and Governance within the organization. The Senior Quality Assurance Manager ensures that quality assurance is leveraged as a strategic asset, aligning all initiatives with the company's overarching business objectives for quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, excellent leadership skills, and experience working with complex, integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage a team of on-shore/off-shore Quality Engineers providing guidance, mentorship as well as performance evaluations to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance strategies, methodologies, processes and a governance framework ensuring alignment with industry best practices, standards and regulatory requirements.

* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and business analysts, to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

* Oversee the creation and execution of detailed Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Scripts to ensure early ambiguity identification as well as thorough testing of all integrated systems, including functional, regression, performance, security and automation testing.

* Drive the adoption and implementation of test automation tools and frameworks to ensure the effective use of QA tools and technologies that will streamline testing processes.

* Manage data quality practices to ensure comprehensive and effective testing coverage across all systems.

* Establish and maintain a robust defect tracking and resolution process to ensure clear and effective communication of defect status and impact to stakeholders by continuously collaborating with development teams to prioritize and resolve defects in a timely manner.

* Monitor, analyze and communicate quality performance metrics, and report on quality trends and improvement opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders by staying current with emerging QA tools and technologies.

* Provide input to the allocation of resources to ensure that QA efforts are aligned with project priorities and timelines at the project level.

* Provide training and support to staff on quality-related topics and best practices.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in software testing/quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

* Strong knowledge of quality management systems, automation tools, frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, DevOps, SDLC).

* Strong knowledge in automation tools (Selenium).

* Experience working with third party vendors, offshore staffing vendors, contract/SOW negotiations

* Knowledge in executing SQL and technical tools such as Swagger, Postman

* Proficiency in QA frameworks and best practices

* Strong leadership and project management skills

* Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

* Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, CQM) is a plus.

* Knowledge of commercial insurance systems and processes is a plus.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000-$160,000.
