Two-way Radio RF Technician

- The Senior RF Technician performs programming ( writing code plugs for radios) and servicing, installation, assembly, testing, and. Travel to customer sites is an essential part of the role and all tasks are to be performed to the highest safety standards. Must have proven experience programing (writing code plugs) for 2-way Radios. Field Installation duties - performed at remote field locations:
- Program, install and service digital communication and tracking systems at customer sites. Terminate & install amplifiers, cable, power supplies and antennas and measure RF and DC system variables
- Install tracking RFID equipment and software and enclosures and fixtures.
- Installation of cable and equipment requires team handling of large spools of cables and drilling of concrete.
Project Coordination and Other General Duties:
- Design, assemble and test products to meet customer specifications
- Read schematics and troubleshoot components to board level.
- Program and writing Code Plugs for radio equipment.
- Set up equipment for installations and assist in laying out project design
- Complete test and acceptance reports
- Train customers in system operation troubleshooting.
- Test AC and DC electrical specifications per MSHA installation requirements and repair and trouble shoot defective units.
- Document process, production, and accounting reports
Minimum qualifications and experience
- Proven experience and proficiency writing code plugs for radio programming and familiar with windows systems.
- Experience using RF test equipment - network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, and oscilloscope.
Proven experience with 2-way radio systems including programming. (Motorola or Kenwood preferred).
- Demonstration of basic skills in mechanical and electrical applications.
- Ability to use a wide variety of power and hand tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Motorola IP Site Connect and Motorola Link Capacity Plus experience is a plus!
Working Conditions
Many tasks will be repetitive, and some may be strenuous. Tasks may be required to be performed in confined spaces and in disagreeable conditions including but not limited to: dirt, dust, fumes, noise, heat, cold, uneven footing, and wet conditions. Some bucket truck and/or ladder work will be required.
Physical Demands
This position involves lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, shoveling, manipulating, and keying/typing.
The ability to pass a required drug screen, which includes screening for Marijuana use as allowed by Federal Law, is required.
Comp $72,800.00 -$79,040
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
