Senior Registered Nurse

The Prince William Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center (ADC) is currently looking for a career-minded Senior Registered Nurse (SRN) to join our high performing healthcare team. We provide safety and security for our staff and the individuals in our care while protecting the residents of Prince William County. This position will involve direct contact with inmates housed at the facility. ABOUT THIS ROLE: The Senior Registered Nurse coordinates, assigns, and monitors work schedules and assignments of lower leveled staff members; establishes staff needs; provides patient care support to other staff members; and supervises staff, as necessary. Performs advanced direct patient care tasks, to include: administering medication and treatments; taking and recording vital signs; assisting patients with physical therapy; and implementing recommended medical procedures. Screens patients for mental and physical assessment by interviewing and performing diagnostic assessments. Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans, services rendered and case histories; documents injuries in applicable reports; ensures compliance with applicable protocols. Provides educational overviews of patient conditions, including diagnosis; treatment options; counseling; and medication requirements and applications. Provides emergency intervention and care related to patient health needs. Performs additional duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or G.E.D. plus a degree or diploma from a state approved professional nursing program and 2 years of related experience.SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS: Registered Nurse License, CPR/First Aid Certification. Must pass local, state and federal background checks and have a valid driver's license.KNOWLEDGE: Supervisory principles; Customer service principles; Mental Health principles and practices; Medical terminology; Nursing principles and practices; Medication protocols; Modern office procedures and equipment; Recordkeeping principles; Computers and related software applications. SKILLS: Monitoring and evaluating employees; Delegating and assigning work; Providing exemplary customer service; Providing healthcare services; Performing medical testing; Preparing and maintaining patient records and information; Using computers and related software applications; Assisting with physical therapy; Performing data entry; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. PREFERRED SKILLS: The successful candidate will have knowledge of supervisory and customer service principles, mental health principles and practices, medical terminology, nursing principles and practices, medication protocols, modern office procedures and equipment, and record keeping. SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: 10 hour rotating night shiftFLSA: Exempt HIRING SALARY RANGE: $81,140.80 - $94,176.23

INCENTIVES:$5000.00 Hiring Bonus
  • Hiring incentives will be paid out in two (2) equal installments. Fifty percent (50%) of the incentive will be paid after ninety (90) days of employment and fifty percent (50%) will be paid following the completion of the probationary period. Probationary employees that voluntarily terminate employment with the County, shall repay the net amount (minus state and federal taxes) of the first bonus installment via a deduction from their annual leave payout and/or remit payment of any remaining balance within thirty (30) days following separation of employment from the County*
