Senior Research Analyst Position Summary The Senior Research Analyst supports Columbia-Greenes data-informed decision-making process by conducting advanced research, analysis, and reporting. This role involves compiling and analyzing data related to enrollment, student outcomes, program effectiveness, and other key institutional metrics. The Senior Research Analyst plays a key role in generating insights that inform strategic planning, accreditation processes, and policy development. The College seeks a full-time Senior Research Analyst who will report to the Director of Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness. If you are passionate about making a difference in students lives, we encourage you to apply Key Duties and Responsibilities Data Analysis and Reporting Conduct data validation and ensure data integrity in all reporting. Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data related to various institutional priorities (e.g., enrollment trends, retention, graduation rates, etc.). Produce regular reports and data visualizations for internal and external stakeholders utilizing dashboards and other visual data tools to present complex data in accessible formats. Collect and analyze data to satisfy federal, state, and local reporting requirements (e.g., IPEDS, NYSED, SUNY). Support data collection and reporting requirements for institutional accreditation processes. Survey Design and Administration Design, administer, and analyze surveys for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Use survey results to provide actionable insights and support decision-making. Prepare summaries and reports based on survey findings. Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Provide support for institutional strategic planning by analyzing historical trends and forecasting future outcomes. Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor institutional effectiveness. Conduct benchmarking studies to compare institutional performance with peer institutions. Support initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by analyzing relevant data and providing insights to inform DEI programming. Collaboration and Consultation Collaborate with various departments to understand data needs and provide consultation on data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Work closely with IT and other campus departments to optimize data systems and processes for efficient reporting. Additional Responsibilities Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned by senior leadership. Supervise staff within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, as assigned. Other duties as required to support department and institutional goals and as assigned by the Director, which may include new projects, evolving responsibilities, or special assignments as necessary. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, economics, education, social sciences, or related discipline). 3-5 years of experience in institutional research, data analysis, or related areas. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, STATA, or similar statistical software). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey). Strong knowledge of higher education data sets (e.g., IPEDS, NYSED, etc.). Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in relevant field (e.g., statistics, economics, education, social sciences, or related discipline). Familiarity with data management tools such as Banner, Degree Works, and Argos. Familiarity with higher education policies and Middle States accreditation standards. Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Salary and Benefits Information Annual 12-month salary $58-65K, dependent on qualifications and experience.
