Pourquoi a-t-on besoin de vous ?NorPro is looking for talented and energetic researchers to join our current team in conducting hands-on laboratory experiments for key development programs. Projects will focus on process and product development activities related to Saint-Gobain's extensive product line. As a Senior Research Engineer, the candidate will research and develop new technologies to improve processes and products within our business. Phases of development include pilot, scale-up, and implementation of R&D processes into manufacturing. The candidate will take project objectives and transform them in to actionable tasks including research of technologies, design and execution of experimentation, analysis of results, and generation of IP and technical reports. The candidate will be expected to develop new products and materials for NorPro using conventional and novel ceramic processing methods to support business objectives. Responsibilities include:
  • Defines formulations and works with customers to meet their product needs
  • Performs research &; development for creating new ceramic materials for diversified applications
  • Leads the planning, technical and economic aspects of projects
  • Prepares reports for upper management
  • Investigates patent and technical literature, and develops new patents for the business
  • Investigate patent and technical literature, and develop new patents for business. Development of disclosures and other IP analysis with focus upon catalytic carrier technology and understanding how competitors may create new products.
  • Utilizes sound technical knowledge of materials, processes, and products to modify/improve product performance, reduce costs, develop new products or processes, and to support new knowledge research.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing plants and sales and marketing teams for new product development and resolves escalated technical issues. Supervises the production of new products with the Pilot Plant and the initial startup within the manufacturing plant
  • Promotes innovation and advance scientific understanding that addresses business growth strategy and fits market and customer needs. Support creation of new ideas in the catalytic technology space and help customers understand the relationship between performance and material science under application conditions.

Ce poste est-il fait pour vous ?
  • BS Degree with a minimum of 7+ years' experience, or MS with 3+ years of experience, or entry level PhD in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of ceramic processing techniques and characterization required
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 processes and procedures, statistics and experimental design, health and safety practices and government regulations preferred
