Program Statement: Matt Talbot for Men is a Residential Treatment program for adult men who are struggling with addiction and may have a co-occurring mental health condition.Our program services offer a holistic approach to treatment and recovery with a client-centered focus.
  • Coordinate residential assistant coverage on all shifts (24 hours a day/7 days a week) through consultation with management.
  • May hire, evaluate performance, discipline and terminate residential assistants with consultation of management.
  • Conduct residential assistant training in life/fire safety issues; environment of care; equipment management, hazardous materials; utilities management; security management; and emergency preparedness as needed and under direction from management.
  • Monitor the medication logbook to ensure staff compliance with accurate recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate unannounced visits to site to ensure quality care for clients.
  • May facilitate training of all residential assistants on drug and urinalysis testing requirements and procedures through consultation with Director/Clinical Supervisor.
  • Co-facilitate monthly residential assistant meetings with program director and/or senior counselor.
  • Assist management in revising program guidelines to maximize operators.
  • Monitor residents' activities and enforce program conduct guidelines and/or rules as warranted.
  • Supervise alcohol/drug dependent clients as warranted by program.
  • Provide client support and guidance.
  • Document services provided to clients.
  • Monitor resident and staff CPR/First Aid Training.
  • Administer Drug Analysis Test as needed and necessary for alcohol/drug dependent clients.
  • May transport clients in organizational vehicle to various meetings, appointments etc..
  • Prepare requisitions of inventory and supplies.
  • May provide residential assistant coverage as needed.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Working toward chemical dependency Counselor Assistant license by obtaining 40 hours of approved education in CD counseling/clinical methods within 1 year for working with alcohol drug dependent clients.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.
  • Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience working with a team of professional staff desirable.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Any MVR grade of unacceptable is not permitted to operate a personal vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities.
  • Must provide a copy of driver's license.
  • Must be flexible and willing to be a team player in assisting program implementation (including shift coverage).
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
