Senior Safety Manager [AA-14022]

Macon, GA

$120,000 - $154,000 plus 20% bonus, benefits package

A leading, global manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to oversee one of their key production locations in the Macon, GA area. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, with a dotted line report into the corporate EHS team, the ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, the ability to influence and engage at various levels of a business.

The Role:

• Provides leadership and technical support for on-going safety projects, problem solving, investigations including site inspections and audits, and safety activities
• Assist in developing an effective safety communication process to make safety priorities and performance visible
• Manages one direct report
• Oversees incident and near miss investigation process to identify root causes; leads safety training, audits and inspections; develops programs for fire protection, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, process safety management, etc.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor's Degree in Health, Safety or similar, related discipline is required - CSP is preferred
• 12+ years of experience in safety roles, within the paper, pulp or packaging industry, or similar high-risk manufacturing environments
• 3+ years of experience in supervisory roles
• Ability to influence and engage at all levels
• Project management skills to include the ability to develop and implement safety processes
• Ability to plan, prioritize and work under pressure and meet deadlines
