Job Description :

A leading medical communications agency is seeking a Senior Scientific Director to spearhead key accounts within their growing promotional medical education/commercial-focused division. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic client relationships, leading and mentoring the scientific team, and providing high-level guidance across a diverse range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, respiratory, and transplant. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future direction of the department, expand the promotional team, and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the scientific team, ensuring the delivery of strategic and impactful promotional medical communications and peer-to-peer programs such as landscape analysis and competitive intelligence, advisory boards, steering committees, speaker trainings, diseases state educational materials, digital content like videos, MOA/MOD, broadcasts, webinars, podcasts, product theaters, congress booth, and websites.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality, accurate scientific content, with the ability to expand team leadership responsibilities as the department grows.
  • Build strong client relationships and drive business expansion beyond current levels, embedding the team within client accounts.
  • Identify and implement strategic business recommendations that align with client objectives and market needs.
  • Lead and facilitate key strategy workshops for clients.
  • Effectively communicate scientific and therapeutic information across multiple therapeutic categories and clients.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization to establish the company as a leader in the promotional medical communications space.

Qualifications:

  • PhD, PharmD, MD.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in medical communications, particularly in the promotional sector.
  • Proven track record of scientific leadership across various clients and therapeutic areas.
  • Experience with US and/or global product launches.
  • Oncology expertise is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring staff and direct reports.
