Reports to: Scientific Innovation (SI) DirectorThe Senior Writer, SI is responsible for creating scientifically sound, clinically relevant, and strategically positioned content for healthcare professionals by using various communication channels. They have a passion for science and the ability to distill complex information into impactful learning. This individual must have exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, healthcare professionals, and the FORCE internal cross-functional team.Essential FunctionsWith minimal guidance from SI Director, build scientific deliverables (eg, presentations, client reports, manuscripts, posters, and abstracts)Support SI Director in strategic evaluations and recommendations through mastery of disease state, clinical landscape, and product dataBe accountable for medical, legal, and regulatory project aspectsDevelop and maintain client relationshipsDevelop relationships with faculty advisors by collaborating on deliverables, advisory board meetings, and speaker training initiativesSupport internal partners through good communication, advanced teaming, and peer mentorshipSupport client work by traveling to live events and meetings (up to 20%)Review literature, perform fact checking, and develop reference packsPerform other duties as assigned to support project workPersonal CharacteristicsTo be successful, an individual must demonstrate expertise in all essential job functions. These skills include being attentive to the customer's needs, collaborating with teammates, demonstrating leadership, having the ability to influence, identifying and solving problems, and working through conflict by encouraging open communication.Education and/or ExperienceAn advanced science or clinical degree (eg, MD, PhD, PharmD, or RN) is preferred; greater experience and capabilities may compensate for a lack of an advanced degree.At least 2 years of experience in medical communications is required.Familiarity with FDA and other regulatory guidelines is required.Direct client experience is a plus.Experience in oncology is a plus.Experience in Medical Affairs, promotional, and publications arenas is beneficial.Advanced skills in MS Word and PowerPoint are required.Client interaction and customer service are integral parts of this role.
