The overall purpose of this position is to assure smooth operation and communication within the Center for Student and Professional Services in the School of Education. It is the first point of contact for current and prospective students and a resource for faculty members. The position maintains data collection systems for tracking student information, progress, and programs.

Position requires:

* Strong administrative and office skills

* Experience with standard office software, especially databases and calendar/scheduling software

* Knowledge of bookkeeping and/or billing

* Strong customer service skills

* Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form

* Ability to work effectively with diverse people

* Ability to handle stressful situations

* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

* Ability to maintain accurate records and files, both manual and electronic

* Ability to work independently

* Accounting principles and bookkeeping skills

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION: The School of Education is organized into four basic Divisions: Teacher Residency & Education: Educational Leadership; Counseling and Psychology in Education; and Kinesiology & Sport Management. Graduate work is available through the doctorate in several program areas. The Education unit is accredited/approved by CAEP.

The School of Education Center for Student and Professional Services (CSPS) offers candidates an energetic and creative environment to assist students throughout their degree program. In addition to academic advising, the CSPS's staff recruit prospective students in conjunction with USD Admissions, assist students with information and resources for Praxis testing, and provide placement and certification services. The Center is located in Delzell School of Education and serves as a resource for faculty and staff and K-12 partner districts.
