This role combines expertise in SQL Server Technologies, programming, and automation to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of database systems. In this role, the Senior Data Platform Engineer will collaborate with software development teams to integrate database automation processes into the software development cycle.The Senior Data Platform Engineer will keep up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in database automation technologies. You will also provide 24/7 support on SQL Server Database Systems in an on-call rotation & support off hour and weekend deployments and tasks when necessary.Key Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and network engineers.Ensure high availability and optimal performance of production databases through effective automation strategies and monitoring techniques.Conduct regular performance analysis and capacity planning to optimize database resources.Document database processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with organization standards.Implement and maintain database automation frameworks, tools, and scripts to streamline database operations and enhance efficiency.Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the database environment and propose innovative solutions.Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Engineer or similar role, with a focus on database concepts, principles, backup, recovery, deployments, best practices, and automation.4+ years' experience with Azure Cloud.4+ years' experience with HADR technologies like Always On, Replication, and/or Clustering.3+ years of proficiency in scripting languages like Powershell, Python, etc. for automation tasks.3+ years of experience with database automation frameworks and tools like Octopus, Teamcity, Ansible, Jenkins.2+ years of experience with source code management tools like GitHub and GitLab.2+ years of experience with CICD tools and methodology.Preferred Qualifications Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.Thorough understanding of database architecture, replication, and high availability concepts.Proficiency in SQL and experience with other database technologies such as PostgreSQL, DB2 LUW, etc.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively through collaboration with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality database automation solutions.Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience).Why should you apply for this role?
