Senior Sr. Systems Administrator Primary Location: New York, New York V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Senior Sr. Systems Administrator for our premier client in New York, New York. Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cyber security, system administration, or a related role.
• Proven experience in cyber security & system administration, including Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Familiarity with bulk deployment tools and automation.
• Scripting or programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation is a plus.
• Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.
• Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience with network security tools such as NIDS/NIPS/Proxy/Secure Web Gateway/Firewall. Experience with AV/EDR/XDR solutions.
• Should possess strong oral and written communication skills and able to produce documentation on solutions and system design. Bachelor's degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 8 years' experience in IT Support.
• Strong customer service mindset, providing +1 end user support experience.

• Design and implementation of VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments.
• Active Directory.
• Active monitoring of the entire infrastructure and troubleshoot server.
• Application Servers.
• Hyper-V.
• Managed Nutanix clusters.
• Manage Operating Systems.
• Workstations.
• 2nd and 3rd-level technical support.
• Ability to intrepid, modify and write scripts and SQL queries.
• Analysis of cyber activity / threats.
• Experience with Splunk.
• Failover Manager administration with clustering VMware.
• Nutanix.
• Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks.
• Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall.
• Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Job Responsibilities:

• Windows Server/Desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services.
• Understanding of servers and various storage RAID configuration.
• Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup.
• Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts.
• Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data.
• Patch and firmware installation and management.
• The ideal candidate is well organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with a safety mind set.
• This individual must also exercise good judgment, integrity, and render sound business decisions.
• The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of various computing platforms from servers, networks, storage including scripting experience for automation.
