In order to be considered for this role, after clicking Apply Now above and being redirected, you must fully complete the application process on the follow-up screen.OverviewThe Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of financial and accounting activities at their respective areas of responsibility as well maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the venue's fixed assets.The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive, and a collaborative professional responsible for supporting the financial infrastructure of their assigned facilities as well as the division. The candidate will communicate and work with the teams at the physical locations as well as assist other staff accountants during the monthly cycle and at the month end. This role will report into the Senior Finance ManagerThis role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $75,000.For FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).This position will remain open until March 28, 2025.Responsibilities
  • Perform all general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Key data into accounting software for A/P, A/R, and general journal entries.
  • Hire and train new Staff Accountants on company process and procedure.
  • Process and prepare account receivable invoices and other Show Management Invoices
  • Serve as back-up for Night of Show settlements
  • Review Arena tenant settlements.
  • Manage Event Deposit process for Convention Center and Arena.
  • Verify & post entries to general ledger accounts; run trial balances.
  • Assist with month end closing procedures and adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepares select event settlements and generate account transfers or check payments.Perform analysis of accounting records; prepare event profitability statements.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and select GL Accounts.
  • Support cash management and cash monitoring within the Finance department.
  • Audits receipts and disbursements to ensure accuracy for public shows and resolves credit cardcharge backs.
  • Examine and verify a variety of financial documents and reports.
  • Assist Director of Finance with budget preparation, financial reporting, and analyses.
  • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
  • Other miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned by Director of Finance.
  • Operate a ten-key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
  • Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.
  • This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including, but not limited to ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, ability to recognize and resolve conflicts, andability to openly communicate verbally and in writing with clients and co-workers.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting,finance, business administration or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience preferably including some supervisory experience.Some experience in building management industry preferred but not required
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
  • Capable of working with all levels of management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Knowledge of ERP and Ungerboeck Software preferred.
