Job Summary:The Senior Superintendent will play a key role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of large commercial construction projects. With a focus on projects valued at $30M and above, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing teams, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and ensuring that all project goals are met in terms of budget, timeline, and quality. This is a leadership role where you'll coordinate efforts across various stakeholders and ensure that projects are executed smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the on-site construction operations for large commercial projects, including healthcare, office, education, and mixed-use developments, valued at $30M and above.
  • Oversee and direct all construction activities, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to create a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
  • Review and approve daily reports, timecards, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, proactively addressing issues related to delays, quality control, or safety.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and project specifications are being met.
  • Implement and manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all phases of construction.
  • Work with the project team to identify and resolve issues that could affect the timeline or budget.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior superintendents and on-site personnel.
  • Ensure all project-related documentation, including RFI's, change orders, and submittals, are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, stakeholders, and inspectors.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with a strong focus on projects valued at $30M and above.
  • Proven experience in managing large, complex commercial projects in diverse market types, including healthcare, office buildings, mixed-use developments, and design-build projects.
  • Expertise in overseeing all aspects of construction, from pre-construction through to project completion.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and scheduling.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and quality control practices.
  • Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • OSHA certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • A strong track record of successful, on-time project completions within budget.
