For you, working with us can mean deeper job satisfaction, better rewards, and a great quality of life inside and outside of work.Job Title:Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing EngineerReporting To:Mgr., Supplier Quality EngWork Schedule:Hybrid - Buffalo, NYTo be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (ex: Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain); Electrical Engineering is a plus• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment• Experience in electronics manufacturing is required• Accomplished in manufacturing capability assessmentsPreferred Qualifications:• Electrical Engineering experience• Strong data driven decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills• Experience in core defect prevention tools (DFMA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Analysis, Error Proofing, etc.)• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in cross functional teams to tight deadlines and often under pressure• Experience with New Product Introduction (APQP and PPAP)• Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations, particularly AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145• Formal continuous improvement qualification (Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt) desired, but not necessary• High degree of numeracy and knowledge of statistical techniques• Experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing; knowledge of SMD (Surface Mount Devices)• Knowledge of Electronics Static Discharge management techniques• Experience in various soldering methods including through hole wave soldering• Experience with AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) methods• Experience with various types of error-proofing methods• Familiar with reading schematics and understanding circuits• Experience with functional testing of electronic components and PCBs• Experience with electrical component rework processes desired; but not necessary• Experience with planning, procuring, and commissioning new electrical component manufacturing processes is highly desired• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancingMoog Military Aircraft Group is the worldwide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for military aircraft. We are positioned on virtually every aircraft flying today, supplying highly reliable systems that are supportable and add significant value for our customers.Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing EngineerAs Moog strategically increases the quantity of parts it purchases from external Supply Chain partners, there is a need for Manufacturing Engineers to support the development, onboarding, and growth of suppliers. The ultimate goal is to ensure stable and capable manufacturing processes are in place to allow delivery of product at customer demand rate.Manufacturing Engineers are involved at all stages of the product lifecycle including influencing design at concept stage, supplier assessment and selection, identifying key process characteristics, manufacturing/assembly process and controls development, process capability analysis, and management of change.Manufacturing Engineers play a critical role in ensuring product integrity as parts are transferred to suppliers and work as part of a cross-functional team to assess and mitigate technical risk.The successful candidate will have a background working in Manufacturing Engineering role, ideally with experience of both internal manufacturing and manufacturing in a Supply Chain environment. The successful candidate will have a broad experience of manufacturing methods that allows them to quickly establish technical capability.Responsibilities:• Support the manufacturing of complex electronic components within the supply base.• Prepare part risk assessments and conduct them with the suppliers.• Review manufacturing processes to insure they will yield parts compliant to engineering drawings and specifications.• Coordinate with various departments and team members to understand design intent and communicate design intent to the suppliers.• Recommend processes, tooling, and inspection methods to suppliers.• Review suppliers manufacturing capabilities.• Assist suppliers in resolving problems related to the manufacture of Moog parts.• Review manufacturing specifications and provide technical guidance on the specifications.• Review new product designs and identify manufacturing concerns and communicate these to design using a data driven approach.• Work with suppliers and Moog design to conduct DFX / DFMA activities on new designs.• Review PPAP submittals for completeness and accuracy.• Create and participate in FMEA activities with the suppliers.• Conduct gage R & R's with Moog and suppliers. Review gage R&R data.• Conduct MSA with Moog and the suppliers to establish correlation and minimize gage correlation issues.• Review process capability data• Be an active participant in the Moog Zero Defect journey utilizing the AS9145 concepts.* 25% TravelSalary Range Transparency:Buffalo, NY $85,000.00-$145,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range DisclaimerThe base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
