The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI) is a self-governing nation that has established tribally managed governmental units to enhance and support services on the San Manuel reservation. The San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission (SMTGC) is the governmental unit created by tribal ordinance as the primary regulator of gaming within the SMBMI's jurisdiction, including the Yaamava' Resort & Casino. The SMTGC, which includes the Surveillance department, is responsible for maintaining legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring a high level of integrity, and safeguarding Tribal and Yaamava' Resort & Casino assets. Under the direction of the Surveillance Systems Supervisor, the Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery for mission critical systems. This role serves as a technical expert on systems administration in the deployment, configuration, security, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the back end infrastructure in a large and complex-computing environment. The Senior Systems Administrator also investigates and analyzes the feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. The Senior Systems Administrator is also responsible for supporting Technical Surveillance leadership by mentoring, training and assisting other Surveillance Systems Administrators. Areas of responsibility include all surveillance systems at properties owned and operated by SMBMI including Yaamava' Resort & Casino, and numerous SMBMI remote site locations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Monitors and ensures the quality of operations with Systems Administrators and vendors, through effective communication ensuring problems are effectively and promptly resolved. Organizes and distributes the workflow of Systems Administrators; reviews work product from subordinates to ensure accuracy and quality. Provides daily updates and work instructions to the team when needed. 2. Plans, executes, and manages projects by prioritizing and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Collaborates with vendors and provides support during various activities. 3. Configures, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots information technology (IT) systems, appliances, and devices such as servers, switches, storage devices, personal computers, and multisite storage area network (SAN)/network attached storage (NAS)/direct access storage (DAS) storage administration (Fiber Channel/ Internet Small Computer Systems Interface/NAS). Windows Server (SQL Server, SharePoint, Others), VMware, vSphere & vCenter administration, and monitoring ensuring surveillance systems are operating within regulatory guidelines at all times. 4. Provides expert knowledge and support for business applications. Leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations. 5. Researches surveillance and IT technologies, makes recommendations on enhancements to ensure efficient and cost-effective surveillance systems operation. Participates in the development and implementation of key strategies, best practice techniques, and tactics to ensure system optimization. 6. Trains and mentors Systems Administrators sharing knowledge of surveillance and IT best practices with team members to continuously develop or enhance individual and team capabilities. 7. Maintains a working knowledge of Surveillance department standard operating procedures (SOP), SMTGC, Casino policies/procedures, Federal, State, and Tribal regulations pertaining to the SMBMI and its operations. 8. Provides on-call support and is responsible for technical support in response to enterprise needs on 24 hour 7 day a week basis. 9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Education/Experience/Qualifications
