  • System Administration: Manage and maintain server environments, including both Windows and Linux servers, to ensure high performance and robust security.
  • Software and Application Management: Administer and support enterprise software applications across various platforms, including installations, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • User Management: Oversee user accounts, permissions, and access controls across multiple systems, ensuring appropriate resource access for all users.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies to protect IT assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • System Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to optimize reliability and efficiency.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity for critical systems and data.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, and system issues, working closely with help-desk staff and end-users to resolve problems swiftly.
  • Patch Management: Manage and deploy system updates and patches to keep all systems secure and up to date.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including network, security, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems and services.
  • Project Management: Lead and participate in IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and the deployment of innovative technologies, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • End-User Training: Provide training and guidance to end-users and junior IT staff on system usage and best practices.
Who You Are: Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role, with a strong background in managing diverse IT systems.
  • Proficiency in managing both Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Experience in enterprise software and application management, including installations, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance best practices, particularly in access control management and security updates.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with effective communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or equivalent, are preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time hybrid position in Albany, NY, Mon-Fri 7a-3p Est.
