Jefferson St. Green Bay, WIJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 2025-010725Department: Information TechnologyOpening Date: 01/07/2025Job Summary In this position, you will be responsible for planning, designing, documenting and implementing information technology to support the ongoing needs of Brown County departments. Provide expert guidance, direction and leadership in regard to Brown County's selection and use of technologies. Maintain highly reliable systems through proper configuration and regular system monitoring. Maintains excellent working relationships with team members, vendors and other departments involved in IT projects. Relies on extensive IT knowledge and professional discretion to achieve departmental objectives. Work independently and receive minimal guidance on work assignments. Assists end users in resolving hardware and software issues by fielding requests, diagnosing problems and fixing issues while providing exceptional customer service.This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work after successful completion of the initial employment period. Essential Duties The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Recommends, analyzes, investigates and tests new technology and, enhancements. Ensures technology meets IT standards for security, compatibility and standardization.
  • Configuration, support, and administration of Active Directory, Windows Servers, SQL, NAC, DNS, Veeam, VMware, M365 applications and other software.
  • Monitor automation tools to configure, test and deploy system wide installations and updates.
  • Serves as a project manager for Information Technology projects within assigned Departments. This includes establishing timelines, coordinating resources, communicating status updates, leading meetings and resolving issues.
  • Maintains security on all end point devices.
  • Review security alerts and identify necessary actions required.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues related to enterprise systems.
  • Monitor systems using provided monitoring tools.
  • Maintain documentation of best practices and support procedures.
  • Train and mentor tier 1 and 2 support resources
  • Provide tier 2/ tier 3 support for escalations related to specified systems
  • Seeks and participates in training opportunities to stay current on best practices
  • Proactively research and recommend updates and upgrades to systems, analyze potential impacts, and implement as appropriate.
  • Maintains hardware inventory and software licensing
  • Serves as liaison between end users, vendors, hardware and software manufacturers.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, computer science, or another related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in server systems and/or server related technology
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, relevant certifications, and training.
Licenses and Certification:
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Fingerprint/background clearance required upon hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong contextual technical understanding including solutions design, deployment and migration
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems
  • Well-organized and works independently with attention to detail
  • Confident yet willing to seek advice from teammates or vendor partners
  • Ability to provide mentorship to team members
Strong digital workplace integration skills including:
  • Microsoft 365 services suite, identity and security foundation, adoption of services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, etc. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell Scripting
  • Linux experience preferred
  • Ability to work well with departmental personnel and users.
  • Ability to coordinate and/or lead multiple problems and projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
