Senior Systems Engineer - Crouse Hospital : Job Details

Responsible for installation, security and support of new sub-system hardware and software on Open Systems platforms with an emphasis on server components. Open Systems platforms currently used at Crouse Hospital are Microsoft Windows and AIX (UNIX). Provide support and maintenance functions to existing systems, be proficient in use of all system utilities. Provide hardware and software problem resolution. Perform technical consultations for applications programming and system users, assist with installations and learn concepts of operating systems. Act as the focal point for Systems Programming projects on open systems platforms. Provide project and technical leadership for other Systems Programmers and Networking staff.

Job Requirements:

• EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE
  • Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and/or acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• EXPERIENCE
  • Required:
    • Minimum of five (5) years' work experience as a Systems Engineer.
    • Experience administering UNIX and AIX Operating Systems.
  • Preferred:
    • Lawson Infrastructure Support (Employee Benefits and Payroll).
    • Familiarity with Lawson Landmark and Infor Process Automation (IPA).
    • High Availability (clustered) environments.
• SPECIAL SKILLS/EQUIPMENT
  • Proficient user of MS Office.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of system, database Sub-System and file structures and possess advanced analytical skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of system design and the ability to manipulate AIX and/or MS Windows operating systems and their utilities.

Pay Range: $80,000-$100,000/year
