Senior Tax Manager
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Tax Manager to join our well-established and highly profitable regional CPA firm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, review, and approve technical tax aspects of tax returns and government tax examinations of varying complexities.
- Take on full responsibility for managing large-scale tax returns, delegating tasks to appropriate tax preparers as necessary.
- Display extensive knowledge and skills in advanced technical areas necessary for advising clients effectively.
- Ensure all client services are performed efficiently and within budget constraints.
- Oversee and direct tax research projects to ensure accurate and efficient outcomes.
- Manage and coordinate communications with governmental tax authorities, representing clients as needed.
- Keep track of all tax staff qualifications and appropriately allocate assignments.
- Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, enhancing their professional development and ensuring quality control over their work.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Minimum of five to seven years of public accounting experience, showing a proven track record in managing complex tax issues.
- At least one year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- Current and valid certified public accountant's license is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in taxation is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience managing both SEC and closely held clients across various industries.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
