Description
SENIOR TRAFFIC MAINTENANCE WORKER
Under direction, does the more difficult and complex work
involved in painting traffic and crosswalk lines and/or assists
in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of traffic
control devices and signs and/or takes the lead over one or more
traffic maintenance workers; does related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience in work involving the assembly,
installation, and maintenance of traffic control devices and
signs, and in painting traffic and crosswalk lines.
LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license
valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather
than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential
duties of the position.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of materials, equipment, and procedures used in
the assembly, installation, and maintenance of traffic control
devices, signs, and/or in street painting.
Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written
direction.
Ability to use safety measures.
Ability to use the necessary equipment.
Ability to keep necessary notes and records.
Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or
manual recording and information systems used by the
agency, office, or related units.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate
in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
