Job Title: Growth Venture Bridge Alternatives Domain Architect, Senior Vice President

Location: New York, NY

Hybrid role: three days per week in the office

Specific area:

Growth Ventures is the Bank's division for managing and building data and software-led businesses, including our market-leading data and analytics business with nearly $50 trillion in financial assets under data management. Growth Ventures, building on this foundation and in partnership with other businesses including Investment Management, Asset Servicing, and Pershing, is bringing to market a new software-led, API-first solution for the alternative investment and wealth management ecosystems. The new business will leverage, connect and enhance existing strengths while also developing market-first solutions that provide a one-of-a-kind experience for partners and clients. The market being targeted is measured in trillions of dollars with revenue pools in billions, yet it is generally considered a nascent space on the precipice of growth. And while we are building from a robust foundation and position of strength, this is very much an entrepreneurial opportunity to innovate and create new products, new solutions, and a new business.

Responsibilities:

This senior role reports to the global engineering lead of the business.

It encompasses:

  • Defines architecture design based on product requirements in accordance with architecture principles, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Oversees development activities to assure the development standards are met in a fast-paced delivery environment. Responsible for creating low level design and development, perform code review. This position requires 60% hands-on development and 40% Solution architecture and design.
  • Strategizes and contributes to enterprise level technological initiatives on architectures, patterns, and standards. Identifies and recommends ways to drive more value out of the company's technology assets. Designs stable and flexible high-performance solutions, maximizing reuse and avoiding redundancy.
  • Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives modified based upon local regulations/requirements.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of total experience in technology.
  • Required Skills Include: Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Python, REST services, Swagger, Apache Camel, Spring Batch, Kafka/MQ, MongoDB.
  • Preferred Skills Include - JavaScript, Angular/React, CSS, HTML5.
  • Startup experience within a product development strongly preferred (FinTech Product buildouts is ideal).
  • Experience with Cloud-native architecture, MicroServices Architecture, Containerization. Kubernetes and Azure/AWS is preferred.
  • Hands on with ability to quickly learn and POC new solutions, frameworks, environments, and technologies.
  • Experience with designing scalable high resiliency systems, business process management, and complex system integration projects Camuda BPM is preferred.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Snowflake, Databricks, Spark is preferred.
  • Agile Development experience required, including CI/CD and DevOps technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent problem solver and self-starter.
  • Experience in financial services industry or FinTech is a plus.

    BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $113,000 and $220,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
