The Senior Vice President, Lab Operations will play a pivotal role in driving performance of Aspen Dental's fixed and removable prosthetic lab operations. This SVP will be tasked with leading a high-performing team and delivering an exceptional experience to our patient population and practice owners. They will ensure that our workflows, talent, vendors, training programs, and quality are optimized and industry leading. The SVP will partner with the operations and manufacturing teams across Aspen Dental to pilot key initiatives, track performance, and transition initiatives to scalable processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading a technical and operator team and will have a strong business background in a technical industry. This individual will be directly involved in strategic interventions with TAG leadership, leading cross-functional teams to identify solutions to critical laboratory problems while ensuring that we continue to innovate.
Responsibilities:
- Develops Laboratory strategy, including centralized manufacturing partners, materials, and process
- Drives the execution of the strategic plan through the annual planning process
- Understands technical workflows and process for prosthetic development and how workflows are related to P&L
- Accountable for Laboratory P&L results and is charged with the development of metrics to ensure the achievement of established goals and objectives related to production, costs, on-time delivery, and customer and patient satisfaction
- Drives innovative developments for revenue growth through diverse channels and tactics, including marketing and sales programs, and new product offerings.
- Coaches operational leaders on piloting Laboratory initiatives, tracking and reporting against goals and determines scalability. Involved in partnership with Learning & Development to ensure adequate educational programs are built for lab technicians and front office staff.
- Maintains strong partnerships between the company and practice owners to ensure alignment to strategic Laboratory objectives.
- Partners with Learning & Development leadership to plan training based on enterprise needs.
- Maintains regular contact with practice owners and their dentists to strengthen relationships and ensure satisfaction with products, solutions, and services.
- Develops and maintain relationships with key influential thought leaders. Utilizes these relationships to enhance service delivery.
- Studies and stay informed on products, technologies, clinical studies, competitive activity, and other general information of interest to practice owners related to new products & services.
- Identifies, reviews and communicates performance indicators to key stakeholders, especially the Executive Leadership Team
- Willing and able to travel within network.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 15+ years of experience leading a service line team in multi-unit retail or healthcare
- Laboratory / clinical experience desirable
- 3D scanning / 3D printing experience desirable
- Results driven individual
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical skills- experience with MS Office
- Leading and executing large-scale initiatives
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- LEAN, Six Sigma, and ISO experience desirable
