Position Summary: The Sepsis and Stroke Coordinator will work collaboratively with clinical services to improve the outcomes for the CMS Sepsis Program and the Certification of Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. The incumbent will also collaborate with Davis Health System and Vandalia Health System and community team members to continuously standardize and improve our programs and outcomes. Position Qualifications: Planning - Ensure continuous survey readiness for Acute Stroke Ready Hospital program by providing education and opportunities for improvement. Assessment - Synthesize audits, analyze, and lead improvements in the realm of enhancing sepsis and stroke initiatives. Oversees and Maintains Guidelines - Oversee the regulatory guidelines for Acute Stroke Ready Hospital and CMS Sepsis regulations. Maintain knowledge of new program regulatory guidelines impacting the care of both sepsis and stroke patients. Education and Teaching - Participate in community education for stroke initiatives. Participate in the survey and accreditation reveiews. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Must have at least 3-years' experience in a clinical health care setting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Excellent critical thinking skills. Strong ability to build and lead diverse teams. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, Both verbal and written. Performance improvement experience is preferred. But not required. Data Analytic experience Preferred, but not required. Preferred Training: Required Course(s)/Training: Must maintain licensure and certifications applicable to position. WV RN licensure required. Certification in Healthcare Quality Certification is encouraged within the first three years of hire. Physical Demands: Light work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
