Job DescriptionDIVISION: OperationsCLOSING DATE/TIME: Until FilledLOCATION: 4305 East 21st Ave., Tampa, FL 33605PAY RATE: $17.46/hr. per Union ContractPOSITION PURPOSE:This position fuels, services and washes buses and other HART vehicles. The majority of these positions work primarily in the evening hours. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Services HART vehicles and equipment, which includes checking oil, coolant,DEF and transmission fluids, adding fluids when necessary, fueling, draining air tanks, clean rims, steam clean engines, sweeping and emptying trash, and washing vehicles and equipment.
- Observes and reports defects discovered in above vehicles and equipment.
- Cleans work areas and other areas such as but not limited break and locker rooms.
- Prepares paper work and documents meter readings when servicing vehicles.
- Coordinates the parking of buses for next day services or events.
- Participates in the pulling of cash boxes from transit fare boxes and the proper procedures for depositing the fares of the cash box into the appropriate vault.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Installs marketing placards and advertisements as needed.
- Assists mechanics as needed.
- Performs all other work related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate, preferred.
- Must be minimum eighteen (18) years of age.
- Experience in transit and automotive servicing and maintenance preferred.
- A stable job history for the last 3 years is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Florida Driver's License; must obtain Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class (B) with P (Passenger) endorsement within the first 90 days of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate (both oral and written)
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of personalities.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength and endurance, when required.
- Ability to work various shifts, hours and days.
- Ability to meet attendance requirement.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Constant periods of hearing, near and far acuity, depth perception, color vision and speaking.
- Visual acuity necessary to perform all duties
- Frequent periods of walking and sitting.
- Frequent periods of standing and squatting.
- Occasional periods of lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
