Skilled customer service technician assisting the public to obtain licenses, permits, and titles in the County Auditor Service Center.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2025. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $22.33 - $30.60 per hour.
This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.

The current position is a .5 FTE.An employee in this class is responsible for a wide variety of customer service related transactions. Duties include evaluating, reviewing documents for inaccuracies or possible fraud, preparing and processing Minnesota identification card applications, driver's license applications, processing and renewing registrations for vehicles and recreational vehicles, and completing title transfers; accepting and processing passports; issuing Department of Natural Resources (DNR) titles, licenses and renewals; and receiving payments for property taxes. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Near and midrange vision; visual accommodation; hear within 20 feet; grip; pinch and hand dexterity; and work inside. FREQUENT: Push/pull up to 15 pounds; lift and carry up to 10 pounds; far vision; bend neck; rotate neck; reach; sit; talk/speak; work alone, with, or around others. * High school diploma or its equivalent.
* Three (3) years full-time paid verifiable experience in a position requiring handling cash transactions.
* Possession of a valid driver's license or state identification card.
* Certification as a License Title Agent within one (1) year of employment. Failure to obtain certification within one (1) year will result in termination from the position.
