Headquartered in Covington, LA and with branches in Deer Park, TX and Paducah, KY, we are your trusted partner in marine propulsion, featuring top brands like Mitsubishi, Steyr Motors, Yanmar and Scania Marine.We are currently seeking a Service Manager who will direct and manage all aspects of service operations for our Paducah, KY location.In this role,you will:
  • Develop, implement, and manage effective processes and procedures for the Service Department.
  • Manage the daily assignments and dispatching of technicians and maximize technician utilization.
  • Maintain, develop, and cross-train a team of capable technicians to effectively achieve the goals of the department.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all Service payroll, billing, expenses, paperwork, and reports.
  • Develop departmental budgets, KPI's, and Goals with Regional Service Manager and provide input for annual billing rates.
  • Coordinate with other managers to continually improve the cross-departmental interaction between Service and all other department and branch operations.
  • Ensure the Service Vehicle Fleet is maintained and prepared for dispatch at all time. Maintain files on all service vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and communications with all Service Customers and keep our customers informed of progress and any developments that may come up.
  • Customize service solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all major engine and product vendor engineering and Service Dealer Network to ensure service and support of our customers anywhere they operate.
  • Develop and execute processes to ensure accurate and effective warranty programs are managed for all vendors.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting Department to ensure timely payment of all Warranty Claims.
  • Coordinate with vendors on repetitive or ongoing service challenges and execute product improvement and warranty campaigns.
  • Communicate any Service Bulletins or Product Improvement Programs with our dealers to keep them informed of product or process changes.
  • May perform other duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 5+ year of customer service and management experience required.
  • Mechanical background preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • High energy with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willing to face complex issues head on and work through challenges to build a stronger organization.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team with diverse personalities. Tactful and mature.
  • Strong customer service mentality.
  • Participative management style. Works with other team members to achieve the same goal.
  • Coaching management mentality. Works to improve the team and the company through sharing experience and expertise to improve the effectiveness of the group.
  • This position operates in both an office and industrial environment.
  • Regularly works around mechanical equipment and may be exposed to high noise levels at times.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl and climb ladders.
  • Required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work Schedule and Benefits:
  • This position is expected to work eight-hour days, Monday - Friday and will include additional work on nights and weekends as needed to fulfill the job duties.
