General maintenance and repair of cranes, service fleet vehicles small to large, hy-rail components, air compressors, welders and more. Essential Job Functions:
- Diagnose, repair and service hydraulics and components, especially aerial equipment
- Diagnose, repair and service 12VDC electrical
- Diagnose, repair and service diesel and gas engines
- Perform preventative maintenance and federal inspections- crane, dot, etc
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, impact tools, pneumatic tools, and grinders etc.
- Complete jobs accurately within the designated quoted hours
- Keep the work area clean and maintain the condition of personal tools and shop tools
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneEducation: High school diploma preferred Knowledge:
- Must have good understanding of basic automotive mechanical, electrical (12-volt), pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Must have a good understanding of running cranes and heavy equipment
- Must have knowledge of fitting sizes, sizing for hydraulic hosing, and electrical wiring
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- General electrical wiring
- Welding experience is preferred (either MIG, TIG, or Stick)
- Any fabrication skills are a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills
- Certified Forklift operator preferred
- Certified overhead crane operator preferred
Abilities:
- Ability to read/ understand hydraulic and electrical systems schematics
- Ability to operate a plasma cutter is preferred
- Ability to use oxygen/acetylene torch
- Ability to work independently and on a team

Physical Requirements:
- The ability to wear the appropriate PPE for the job task performed. (All technicians are required to wear safety toed shoes and safety glasses. Painters/ welders are required to wear either PAPRs or full-face respirators and must complete an OSHA medical evaluation/ spirometry test annually.)
- The ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch while also utilizing tools
- The ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, or work platforms
- May lift up to 25-50lbs and/or move up to 50lbs with assistive devices
- Must be able to work in extreme weather
