**Service Yard Laborer**

**As a Yard Laborer, you will be a key member in maintaining clean toilets, sinks, holding tanks, and fence panels in the wash pad area. Responsible for driving forklift, loading, unloading, trucks and trailers, and cleaning all deliverables. Direct drivers and truck traffic in wash pad/loading and unloading area. Responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously serving customers when needed.**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**

* **Retrieve and review load sheets for deliveries scheduled**

* **Safely load, unload, and secure the load for safe transport on trucks and trailers**

* **Clean, maintain, and stock toilets, sinks, holding tanks, and fence**

* **Maintain clean wash pad and storage area**

* **Clean loose trash off truck/trailer and ground around a truck that spill during loading and unloading process to maintain clean site and safety along roads and highways**

* **Courteously interacts with drivers or the general public to answer questions or respond to requests. Notifies superiors of issues requiring management action**

* **Maintains and submits load sheets and daily site inspection paperwork**

**Basic Qualifications**

* **Knowledge of the forklift and its components, and the basic maintenance requirements for safe operations. Ability to read and write well enough to complete load sheets.**

* **Must have a forklift license or be willing to obtain one within the first few months of employment**

* **Must demonstrate the ability to maneuver forklift into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back stances up to approximately 120 feet**

* **Must demonstrate the ability to connect, disconnect trailer safely, and secure loads**

* **Able to follow safe operating practices, including lock out/tag out procedures to ensure the truck is inoperative when loading and unloading truck and trailer**

* **Monitor operations to detect loose debris, using mirrors or direct sight and/or listening for debris falling onto a truck during loading and unloading operations. Visually scan truck, trailer, and work area before and after loading unloading trucks, trailers, and working n wash pad area**

* **Able to follow safe operating practices and procedures**

* **Ability to use a pressure washer to clean deliverables and safely use and maintain proper safe storage of cleaning chemics**

* **Able to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service**

**Physical Requirement**

* **Walking, bending, climbing, crouching, driving, sitting, twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling, gripping/grasping controls**

* **Ability to effectively communicate with dispatch/supervisors**

* **Able to lift at least seventy-five pounds as needed daily**

* **Stamina and flexibility to maintain a steady work pace**
