The Set Dresser will work to fabricate props and set décor according to specifications given by the props and décor designers and Scene Shop Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Construct hand props and set decor elements.
- Build animal costumes from different fabrics and materials.
- Assist in all build related tasks that relate directly to theatrical sets and scenery, flats, drops,
- props and decor.
- Adhere to timeline and deadlines set by project management.
- Assist during the show changeover process by assembling and striking any needed décor items.
- Support and uphold the vision and direction of the team as set forth by leadership.
Prerequisites:
- Previous experience as a set dress, set decorator, or in a related role in theater, film, or television.
- Experience in operating sewing equipment, scene shop tools, and machinery.
- Ability to use general craft, painting, and building skills to follow designs plans and instructions accurately.
- Ability to communicate well and keep a positive attitude in a highly collaborative and diverse team atmosphere.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to work on multiple tasks effectively.

- Color Theory: Understanding of color palettes, combinations, and schemes to create a harmonious and impactful visual appeal.
- Spatial awareness: Ability to visualize how different elements will fit and interact within the physical space.
