Job Description :
We're looking for a reliable Set Fabricator to bring our creative visions to life by executing set builds that align with both budget and timeline requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and craftsmanship, with experience across multiple disciplines such as floor installation, drywall, painting, carpentry, and furniture/wall fixture installation.As part of the production team, you'll be responsible for managing set builds from start to finish, including sourcing, purchasing all necessary materials and often leading builds. You'll also have the opportunity to assist with more complex custom builds or connect the team with additional contractors when needed.We're looking for someone who can be a consistent and trusted part-time presence, someone who knows the ins and outs of set building and can offer guidance on what's feasible within budget. Your role is crucial in ensuring both the safety of our internal and external teams and the overall success of our production efforts.Responsibilities
  • Build sets based on provided renders, adhering to budget and timeline requirements
  • Perform a variety of construction tasks, including floor installation, drywall, painting, carpentry, and furniture/wall fixture installation
  • Manage purchasing and sourcing of all materials required for the set build
  • Provide input on the feasibility of designs based on budget constraints during the creative development and pre-production process
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed for all team members on-site
  • Assist with more complicated custom builds as needed or connect the team with additional contractors for support
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in construction and set fabrication
  • Proficiency in multiple construction tasks such as flooring, drywall, and painting
  • Have some understanding and/or experience of how sets look on screen and best fit for film or social
  • Carpentry experience and video production set-building experience are a plus
  • Ability to design or render based on given art direction, a plus
  • Ability to manage projects independently, while meeting deadlines and budget requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially when handling complex or custom builds
  • Experience managing material sourcing and purchasing
  • Agency or production experience is a plus, but not required
