Setup Technician - JSP International : Job Details

Job Type Full-time Description The position adheres to all production requirements in order to produce molded products from expanded polypropylene by constructing and setting tooling as per production scheduling under the direction of the set-up lead and abiding by quality specifications in all regards. completes appropriate documentation for mold builds and machine checks. The Set-Up Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs to all tooling equipment, and changes tools and frames for each set as required. Requirements

• Performs responsibilities in compliance with ISO-9001 policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Performs general production assistance under direct or indirect supervision by the Production Manager / Shift Supervisor. Communicates all pertinent information relating to maintenance problems incurred during shift to the Production/Maintenance Supervisor and other Maintenance Technicians.
• Adheres to all safety rules, regulations and procedures. Set-up and change-over of work cells.
• Perform all machine checks before handing over to Production Tech or Molding Specialist.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on molds and equipment, as required.
• Coordinate mold changes with production and materials departments.
• Perform preventive maintenance on molds and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair of production equipment related to tooling as needed.
• Completes daily inspections on departmentally assigned tools and equipment on presses before changeovers such as strain bars, matrixes, ejector gates, and hoists.
• Sets molds for each start up and ensures first piece approval before signing machine over to the Production Hourly lead.
• General housekeeping for all maintenance locations; maintains work area in clean and neat order.
• All other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor or designee.

Must be able to operate a forklift truck; which requires the use of arms and legs, the ability to get onto truck and depth perception to stack and/or move crates or other material. Must have finger dexterity and be able to see and hear. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Safety equipment consists of all forms of PPE such as; safety glasses, ear plugs and steel-toed shoes. Must be able to come to work as scheduled on a regular basis and be able to work scheduled shifts as necessary. Performs responsibilities in compliance with all safety, quality, environmental procedures, OSHA regulations and JSP policies. Knowledge & Skills: The following are the required experience, education, knowledge and skills to perform the functions of this job. Note: The set-up tech l position will require the ability to effectively demonstrate the ability to build any tool to print, and proper use of the mill and lathe, and complete all molding machine checks prior to startup.
