SF - 152 - Senior Procurement Specialist / Buyer (Capital Equipment & MRO) - Aerospace OEM / Near Waco, TX We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist/Buyer responsible for sourcing and acquiring capital equipment and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) items. This role is critical in driving procurement initiatives during the startup phase and beyond. Strong negotiation abilities, a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, and a focus on value optimization are key components of this position. Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist/Buyer (Capital Equipment & MRO)Target Salary: $80k-$110k Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Sourcing:
    • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for capital equipment and MRO items.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, ensuring competitive terms.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate favorable agreements.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods.
    • Resolve supplier disputes and address performance issues.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to identify and execute cost-saving initiatives.
  • Contract Management:
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for capital equipment and MRO purchases.
    • Ensure compliance with all contract terms and monitor contract renewals and amendments.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and optimize inventory levels to minimize costs and prevent stock outs.
    • Implement and oversee inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Cost Reduction:
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities through price negotiations, supplier consolidation, and value engineering.
    • Analyze purchasing data to highlight and act on cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits to address and correct compliance issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, particularly with capital equipment and MRO.
  • Strong organizational skills within an MRO storage facility, including the ability to prioritize operational needs.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, with preference given to SAP experience and the management of approved supplier lists.
  • Knowledge of contract law and procurement best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CPM, CPIM).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
