Details Client NameKindred Hospital Dayton Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyICU Job ID29944201 Job TitleSH 4500 Kindred Hospital - Dayton - Travel: RN Adult ICU Days Weekly Pay$2079.0 Shift Details ShiftDay - 12x3 - 07AM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date01/27/2025 End Date03/31/2025 Duration12 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 07:00 am - 07:00 pm Guaranteed Hours: N/A Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience License: Must have a valid RN license Certifications: ACLS & BLS through the American Heart Association Must-Have: Recent experience in Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), trach & vent care Job Description: - Provide quality care to critically ill patients using the nursing process: Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation.- Serve as a patient advocate and supervise the nursing care provided by other caregivers.- Develop and coordinate nursing care plans with patients, family, and interdisciplinary staff.- Apply critical thinking to promote positive clinical outcomes and ensure patient education.- Participate in discharge planning and maintain nursing care standards according to hospital policies.- Conduct patient assessments upon admission and refer to other disciplines when necessary.- Release, remove, and reapply restraints as necessary, ensuring correct patient positioning and alignment.- Document patient assessments and care plans accurately in electronic medical records.- Use biomedical equipment correctly (e.g., defibrillator, suction machine, IV pumps).- Deliver safe and effective patient care, completing team/patient assignments promptly and demonstrating teamwork.- Obtain consents for procedures and blood transfusions and ensure informed decisions by patients.- Transcribe and carry out physician orders accurately.- Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions such as cardiac rhythm disturbances, respiratory distress, and adverse drug reactions.- Institute emergency actions, notify physicians, and obtain necessary orders effectively.- Administer medications adhering to ICU policies, demonstrating knowledge of dosages, side effects, and routes.- Recognize and institute arrhythmia protocols for various cardiac rhythms.- Direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients.- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures, such as thoracentesis and bronchoscopy.- Ensure economical utilization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.- Participate in orientation and evaluation of new nursing staff.- Assist team members with care and manage direct patient care when needed.- Coordinate patient care for scheduled therapies and procedures in other departments.- Implement emergency measures for sudden adverse developments like cardiac or respiratory arrest.- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient care.- Apply appropriate therapeutic interventions considering emotional and rehabilitative care aspects.- Utilize current ACLS certification for lifesaving measures and appropriate referrals.- Manage various tubes and devices, including catheters, feeding tubes, and drainage systems.- Set up and monitor hemodynamic systems accurately.- Recognize critical lab values and report/document them appropriately.- Validate telemetry strips and ensure correct telemetry lead placement.- Assess and meet patient and family education needs effectively.- Provide complete patient reports to incoming RNs and ensure documentation is thorough.- Communicate pertinent information to physicians and patients.- Follow dress code, maintaining neat and professional appearance with proper identification.- Complete all health, safety, and educational requirements annually.- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.- Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings.- Comply with all organizational ethical and safety policies.- Demonstrate guest relations skills with all individuals.- Follow hospital policies regarding health, safety, and security procedures.
