City Beautiful it is, in setting, in character and quality of life! Job Description The Sheetmetal Fabricator is responsible for forming and finishing sheet metal according to print requirements. This position is for someone who is hands on, detail oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintaining safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations and alerting management to safety hazards that exist.
  • Determining and completing the optimal work steps and forming processes, produce parts made to print with expected quality at or below expected cost.
  • Cutting, sanding, tapping, countersinking, and forming sheet metal
  • Reading metric and imperial prints
  • Examining work pieces for defects and ensuring conformance with specifications
  • Using precision measuring tools to maintain accuracy and quality of parts.
  • Contributing to cost and lead time reduction through continuous improvements and innovation in manufacturing coming up with creative solutions to produce low volume parts cost effectively
  • Working with the team to keep the work area and equipment clean & organized
  • Performing basic preventive maintenance on the equipment
  • Ensuring smooth handoffs between shifts through regular communication
  • Supporting and complying with all applicable laws, company policies and procedures including HSE, ISO and Quality policies and procedures applicable to the position.
  • Other duties as required by supervisor.
QualificationsEducation Requirements:
  • 2 year Technical Degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year job related experience or equivalent education related experience.
Experience Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience forming sheet metal and an associates or vocational degree in a related technical field OR have an overall combination of at least 3+ years of both education/training and work experience
  • Can read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Self-motivated with strong problem solving skills, efficient management of time and resources, and able to work independently
  • Proficient in the use of imperial and metric units of measure
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with laser cutting
  • Experience in a low volume, high mix, manufacturing environment

The expected compensation range for this position is between 23.17 to $35.33 per hours based on a full-time schedule. Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
