Reports to: Program Manager
Compensation: $23.25 per hour, Full-time (weekend and overnight availability mandatory). The BVHM Family Emergency Shelter uses the school's gym as a family emergency shelter. The program provides shelter for up to 20 families at a time and operates during evening and overnight hours from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am. The program provides coordinated, compassionate, and high quality services to youth and families from within the school experiencing homelessness.
Position Description:
Under the supervision of the BVHM FES Program Manager and the Director of Operations, Shelter Monitors are responsible for the operation and security of the shelter site and the supervision of the shelter youth and families. We are currently seeking both full-time and part-time monitors. The shelter will operate 7 days per week, 365 days a year, and staff work one of two shifts: 5:30 p.m.1 a.m. or 1:00 a.m.7:30 a.m. between Monday-Friday and 5:30 p.m.2:30 a.m. or 2:30 a.m.10:30 a.m. on weekends. Available shifts may vary and hours may range between 18-40 hours per week.
