SHELTER SECURITY GUARD-ON-CALL - Social Services Division - Homeless Services Center - Revised Pay Rate

This position will handle internal and external security through visual observation at the Homeless Services Center. They will be responsible for using shelter protocols to greet facility guests perform scheduled and random searches during check-in/open hours times and by staff request. The Shelter Security Guard will be responsible for addressing guest or visitor concerns and conflicts, alerting Shelter/General Assistance staff of guests in crisis, assisting in emergency situations, and reporting any suspicious activity. The ideal candidate for this position has a professional disposition and excellent customer service skills. They also possess the ability to stay calm and de escalate crisis situations, the ability to work on their feet for extended periods of time, and the ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients. Applicants should have previous experience with vulnerable populations, experience with incident documentation and related paperwork, experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced, client-focused setting, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.

Rate of pay is $18.74/hour. Additionally, a $2.00 shift differential is paid for all weekend hours and nights after 7PM.
