Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.Lead execution of monthly team safety requirements - including required safety raining, completion of behavior-based safety observations, safety pre-shift risk assessments , departmental inspections, etc.Educate team members on safe operations.Effectively communicate Owens Corning's stand on safety throughout the Operations Department to ensure team members believe in and behave in a manner that supports our stand that all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone's responsibility, and that working safely is a condition of employment at Owens Corning.Perform reporting and investigation of all safety incidents, driving to root cause and permanent resolution.2. Operational and Technical OversightDirects and performs the duties of Hot End and Down Line OperatorsRegularly verifies performance and condition of batch house, furnaces, channels/forehearth, chemicals, wash water, bagger, and quality areas of operationsSecures the services of maintenance personnel to correct electrical, mechanical, or line down problemsAssures shift regularly inspects and verifies performance of various fans, bearings, fiberizers, and other equipment to avoid mechanical failure or operational inefficiencyMonitors computer controls and control room. Inputs, retrieves, and disseminates data. Makes process adjustments per technical training for optimum quality propertiesPerforms other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the NLT and the direct supervisorManage processes and equipment to maximize operational efficiency and safetyOversee and assure safe working practices according to documented standard operating procedures (SOP), standard work, and job hazard assessments (JHA)Educate, review, develop, train, and discipline shift personnelDocument positive and negative personnel performanceMake processing changes and implement process improvements approved by engineering and proves suitable per technical training protocolsAdjust processing variables outside of CPV range with engineering approval3. Achieve customer satisfaction and quality commitmentsUnderstand and communicate customer expectations throughout the Operations Department, and ensure all products meet customer standards and requirements.Ensure timely and accurate production to schedules to meet or exceed delivery to promise.Ensure operational procedures are followed to product specifications, and quality metrics meet customers' needs.Report and investigate all quality near misses.Perform root cause analysis with the involvement of operators on all quality issues and resolve.Train operators on problem solving skills, and coach through resolution.4. Lead and develop talentMonitor and enforce all plant and corporate policies and procedures.Provide candid feedback on expectations and performance to all members of team on regular basis.Complete robust annual performance review with each team member.Actively lead and build effective work teams and committees to increase plant performanceMaintain documentation, track, counsel and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur5.
