Shift Electrician - Steel Dynamics : Job Details

Overview:

Electrical maintenance of all plant equipment

Responsibilities (Text Only): - Understanding of PLC Logic and HMI's (Capable of troubleshooting control issues) - Industrial Networks (ControlNet, Device Net, Profibus, Ethernet) - Strong Motor skills - Strong troubleshooting skills - Understanding of Process Instrumentation and Applications - Medium and High Voltage Switchgear (up to 161kV) - Ability to work without direct supervision (Self Motivated) - Ability to multi-task & follow through on projects with peers. - Willingness to learn and train others. - Good communication skills with ability to log activities in a database. - Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc...) - Outstanding work record - Must be willing to work unscheduled days when needed Qualifications:

Required:

• Basic knowledge of power distribution, AC motors and motor control
• Experience in relay control circuits and/or PLCs
• Skilled at troubleshooting, problem-solving, and installation of electrical equipment

Preferred:

• At least 2 years working as an electrician or technician in an industrial environment or a 2-year electrical tech degree.
• Experienced in working on controls and distribution.
• Good working knowledge and understanding of Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs and drives.
