Hourly Shift Leader Duties

The hourly shift leader duties include:

Delegating tasks to restaurant staff and supervising their performance;

Maintaining a fully-stocked inventory and ordering food supplies as needed;

Arranging to have shifts covered (e.g. when employees take time off);

Helping staff resolve on-the-job challenges;

Tracking and impacting daily costs and revenues, including labor, food cost, guest satisfaction, and sales;

Balancing the cash drawer at the end of the shift;

Coordinating with suppliers as they deliver food product orders;

Ensuring client satisfaction and gracefully handling any complaints;

Opening or closing the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift);

Informing the next Shift Leader about pending tasks;

Reporting maintenance and training needs;

Protecting the establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies;

Other duties as requested by management.

This is for a position at a franchised McAlister's Deli location.
