Overview

Shift Leaders are responsible for assisting in the management and operations of a Break Time Convenience Store. This first step into management learns about the store's finances, performs shift supervision, and completes the necessary paperwork. They are energetic leaders who believe it only takes a moment to make your day better.

Responsibilities

As a Break Time Shift Leader, a typical day might include the following:

  • Working with customers: Provide excellent customer service by engaging with the business and customers; consistently greet and thank each customer, handle complaints quickly, and conduct accurate transactions.
  • Day-to-day store operations: Learn and assist in all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, and maintaining store cleanliness.
  • Merchandising and sales: Assist in the execution of marketing programs and merchandising activities including proper pricing and vendor check-in.
  • Supervising: Perform shift supervision in the absence of the manager; control merchandise and cash shortages; promote food service and safety.
  • Communication: Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Working closely with management: Understand store finances and help meet company goals for sales and expenses.
  • Teamwork: Exhibit professionalism and assist in recruiting and training the store team.
  • Working with technology: Learn and utilize store technology; perform mathematical calculations for transactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Job Requirements

    This job might be for you if you meet the following requirements:

    • Prior management/leadership experience preferred.
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
    • Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
    • Flexible availability including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
    • Experience in retail sales preferred.
    • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
    • Works well individually and in leading a team.
    • Physical ability to move and position products in various temperature conditions.
    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and learn new concepts.
    • Willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders.
    • Ability to perform duties with accuracy and minimal supervision.
