Job Title: 1st Shift Supervisor

Location: Rock Hill, SC

Salary: $54,466+ (salary)

Schedule: Monday-Friday (6:30am-4:30pm)

Job Type: Direct Hire

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment, tools, and resources at TMA.
  • Ensure all employees comply with safety regulations, systems, policies, procedures, and organization standards at TMA. Interpret company policies, coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.
  • Resolve personnel problems (with HR department's help if needed) by analyzing data/situations, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
  • Participate in the labor development plan and production schedules to support customer orders.
  • Support manpower requirements by adjusting personnel levels and coordinating overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Provide training and personal growth opportunities to all employees to help them reach their full potential, especially focusing on training and developing line leaders and senior positions.
  • Foster a spirit of cooperation and collaboration within and between departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met and work goals are achieved. Contribute to team effort as needed.
  • Lead the continuous improvement process using Kaizen tools/techniques, analyze work problems, and recommend measures to improve safety, product quality, productivity, and cost reduction at TMA.
  • Report line problems to support groups and in PMA:
  • Quality issues to the quality group
  • Machine and equipment malfunctions to the maintenance group
  • Process issues, tools issues, OMS issues, etc., to the engineering group
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Coordinate activities with other supervisors to ensure smooth operations across departments.
  • Perform activities of workers supervised if required.
  • Ensure training records of team members are up to date and only certified team members work independently at their stations.
  • Maintain an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise up to 25 employees in the Assembly department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
