Job Description :
Position Overview The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for material handling and administrative duties for the warehouse and production facility. This role involves managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring efficient material flow throughout the facility. Key Responsibilities Material Handling:
  • Load or unload vehicles during delivery
  • Place incoming materials in proper areas for production or office use
  • Prepare orders for delivery, including packaging, crating, and securing loads appropriately
  • Use various material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklift, side loader, etc.) to move raw materials or products throughout the building or to prepare orders for delivery
Administrative:
  • Prepare records of orders shipped (create bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges, maintain shipping records)
  • Receive incoming shipments of materials or orders (verify correctness against bills of lading, report damaged goods and shortages, route goods to proper departments)
  • Receive, store, and issue stock of materials and supplies while keeping stock area neat and orderly
  • Maintain inventory records
  • Assign worklist and schedules to shipping employees as directed by manager
  • Perform other related administrative and workflow duties as required
Required Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Successful completion of Tow Motor/Fork Lift Training
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding of sheet metal production and processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for two to three hours continuously
  • Occasional walking, climbing stairs, bending, and stooping
  • Capable of getting on and off lift equipment repeatedly throughout the day
  • Able to reach or grasp orders
  • Regularly required to lift 45 lbs minimum, up to 60 lbs individually, and up to 120 lbs in a buddy lift
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Verbal communication skills
Work Environment
  • Exposure to fabrication shop conditions including dirt, dust, and noise
  • Potential exposure to extremes of heat or cold
  • Exposure to solvents and electrical energy
  • Work around machinery with moving parts and mobile vehicles
  • Work outside receiving shipments or securing loads in all types of weather conditions
  • Close collaboration with team members
  • Some overtime may be required based on demand and management discretion
