Shipping and Receiving Clerk – Burbank, CA

Part-time – non-exempt

SIGMA Corporation of America is seeking a part-time Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team in Burbank, CA. This position will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment and verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments containing inventory. Duties include but are not limited to, receiving, storing, and distributing all deliveries, as well as stocking items in their proper locations as needed. This role will assist in organizing inventory for efficient retrieval and assist the West Coast Operations Manager with the day-to-day inventory management in our Burbank office. Applicants with photography experience and technical aptitude will be given priority consideration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs shipping functions using established procedures with FedEx and UPS shipping systems.

• Accurately identify and label boxes and use proper packing materials to ensure protective packaging.

• Receive and review inbound shipments and verify items and quantities, comparing with records such as invoices, or orders for accuracy. Make a notation of discrepancies and alert management.

• Examines shipment contents and compares with records such as invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.

• Maintains shipping materials and supplies.

• Ensures the safe storage and accurate inventory of all products on-premises.

• Verify inventory counts and physical inventory as required.

• Alert management of out-of-stock or low stock levels as discovered.

• Communicates with appropriate departments when problems arise.

• Maintain the company stockroom by organizing and cleaning on a regular basis.

• Actively support Burbank office operational activities by participating in office activities and staff meetings.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Some knowledge of inventory management.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and follow schedules.

• Basic computer and mathematical skills

• Works well under pressure

• Basic computer and mathematical skills

• Must be able to lift, carry, or push up to 50 pounds and work on feet for lengths of time.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent; one to three years related experience.
