Job Description :

The Plastipak Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for all phases of operation of the shipping and receiving office including loading and unloading trucks via forklift.

You Will

  • Report food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Receive incoming plant shipments, primarily parts, supplies, and raw materials.
  • Record and distribute paperwork, and enter data into PICS system.
  • Distribute received goods to appropriate parties.
  • Be responsible for outbound UPS shipments.
  • Compare identifying information and count of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices or other records, of deliveries from various sources.
  • Create purchase order requisitions based on vendor invoices and/or work orders.
  • Examine all incoming shipments, which involve rejection of damage items, record shortages and correspond with parts room or raw material handlers to rectify discrepancies.
  • Collect and file repair costs associated with Fork Lift and Dock repairs.
  • Operate industrial truck, or manual or electric hoist equipment, to assist in unloading or moving of materials and product.
  • Maintain file of finished unload sheets and all Bills of Lading.
  • Input dunnage in system when unload sheets are returned.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping material and supplies for UPS.
  • Prepare and ship packages by way of UPS. Affix shipping labels and identify shipping information to all packages shipping via UPS.
  • Work closely with Parts personnel to coordinate off-shift receiving.
  • Have the authority to place product on hold.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned

You Have

  • High School diploma or General Education degree.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide units of measure in whole numbers, fractions or decimals.
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to utilize PC-based spreadsheets, and word document software.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to present information in one on one and small group situations to other work associates.
  • Effective teamwork skills to work with other departments.
