About the Role:Supervise shipping office personnel and secure transportation necessary to move materials and items to all external and internal customers in the safest, most productive and most cost effective method available while meeting Haynes' quality standards.Qualifications (Required & Preferred):Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supervision, Management or related field (P)Experience: 2 years supervision (R), 2 years traffic management (P)Areas of Knowledge: Safety, Health & Environment (R), Manufacturing (R), Transportation Knowledge (R), Material Packaging (R), )Skills: Written and Oral communication (R), Keyboard & Computer Proficiency (R), Domestic and International Traffic Knowledge (R), Microsoft Office (R), Organization & Accuracy (R), Interpersonal Relationships (R)Global Accountabilities for the Role:Safety/Environmental: To ensure all known safety and environmental requirements are followed on all shipments.Quality: Ensure the accuracy of all information/documentation which is forwarded from the shipping office.Productivity: Take appropriate action to achieve or exceed established goals.Cost/Stewardship: To perform all duties in the most cost-effective manner possible.Role Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily activities within the Shipping Office to ensure entire shipment process is timely and efficient.
  • Determine, establish and modify Overseas Container Shipments to customers and affiliates.
  • Assist in the selection of Domestic Carriers and monitor performance. Issue and follow claims, as necessary.
  • Give toolbox talks and assign tasks and cover the floor in both shipping and receiving.
  • Review and approve invoices for freight charges and pursue opportunities to reduce freight costs.
  • Service internal/external customers in a professional manner while fostering cross-functional relationships.
  • Ensure that all federal and international shipping regulations are met for shipments.
  • Ensure that Haynes' wood usage documentation and tracking system remains in compliance with external requirements.
  • Assist the Shipping Office Clerks with daily responsibilities necessary.
  • Prepare required reports for management.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and complete tasks within budget while adhering to all corporate policies, procedures and rules.
